Online research journal prompt

I'm currently in my second semester of college English and its night and day from how I was taught in high school. In high school I might as well have been writing in a cage of no expression. There were specific rules to follow and writing guidelines to abide in. I value adding voice to my writings and when I begin English 101 in college I was encouraged to add voice to my writing. I was encouraged to write freely with a goal to have a specific purpose, context, and audience in each of my writings. The idea that has most stood out to me since I've been in college English is the idea of generating a connection to the audience I'm writing for. If I'm able to establish a connection with my audience they'll in turn be more open to  whatever my purpose may be in my essays. I love the freedom I have In my writing. I've found that college has taught to me to just start typing and see how it goes from there. I have a dream of one day being a sports journalists. I couldn't imagine getting paid to write and talk about sports! I hope I can apply everything I learn in college English to that dream that I'm chasing so furiously.
